Alls Well That Ends Well—But For The Grace Of God. . .

What principles define how you live?

  1. Quality Endures. What seems expensive actually can be cheaper in the long run . Remember the Big Bad Wolf and the three little piggies’ house construction? Can you withstand the huff-and-puff of Mother Nature?
Crossing tees and dotting eyes!
Get the Point?

2. Do the right things because you ought to. i.e. The check is in the mail!

I couldn’t believe how corporate lessor’s automated response systems treat outgoing renters’. Short version? It’s baaad—Like a sheep in Wolves clothing! Or, just an , “Oh Rats. Why did it have to be rats?”

They charged me a full deep- cleaning fee with a spotless apartment. I even left a new dust-buster in the kitchen!

Oh well, all’s well that ends well!

3. Know when to quit. At least I did tell the building manager about the rats in the walls after they remodeled the apartment next door as they covered up the holes in the walls and floors before laying down new tiles! The building of 64 units had like, 24 empty units post COVID and the mass-exodus of Work From Home in tech jobs. Downtown was dead. And the good old BradMar Apartments had lots of empty units–for years–especially the one next to my empty unit which was located next to the trash chute that led to the back alley. Need I say more? My drain was plugged so bad–for so long–in the kitchen–that the plumber cracked the feed-in joint and had to replace the pipe from the sink to the return pipe!

A boy came to plug up the holes in my plumbing—and that was the end of their responsibility. I used the maintenance app, and gave them glowing feedback! No more pests in my living space! So yeah, corporate management responds fast–but in the end, you’re just a ‘ticket’ number in a queue, that needs to be ‘escalated’ because the uninterested unfamiliar handler doesn’t respond in-person like a building manager would.

4. Just saying. They got big rats in San Francisco! There are still units on Zillow that are still empty from when I was looking back in 2023 and 2024! They rotate a few and change them up so it looks like they were rented or occupied and off-market.
